BODIES & BOUNDARIES: Somatic Experiments
In this 3-hour, experiential group workshop, participants will be offered various exercises to explore different somatic (body-based) responses to the space we inhabit together, our physical & energetic boundaries, and what does yes / no / maybe (ie: consent!) feel like in the body. Artworks in the gallery will be participating bodies.
Project support provided by The Open Fund, through the Poor Farm with funding from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and Ruth Foundation for the Arts.
ABOUT ASHLEY HARTMAN ANNIS:
Ashley Hartman Annis (she/they) is a somatic practitioner, full-spectrum doula, and zine maker in Madison, WI. Her work centers on supporting people in actually hearing & trusting what their bodies have to say and uncovering the wisdom that our bodies already hold. This type of support can be especially helpful during life’s big transitional moments, such as giving birth or actively dying—but it also makes a difference during the little births, deaths, and cycles of everyday life.
