~An Astrologer training course. This course is designed to guide you through getting to know your own personal planets in your birth chart. Not how to read others birth charts (although you may come out of it with some insight to share with your friends!)
~Intended as a self-help guide or a form of mental health counseling. This is a tool to help you find what parts of your personality you are most aware of, drawn to working with, and where you want to get to know yourself better through creative channels.
~While we will touch on houses and aspects, this course focuses on what sign the planet is in and how you can explore the relationship between those energies in yourself. Maybe there will be another course in the future delving into those topics, but it is not part of this course :)

This course is written by me! Meaning that it is through my lens of experience and research. My focus in Astrology is through the lens of western astrology, aided, adjusted, and fleshed out through my work in contemporary art, decentralizing colonial western knowledge ideologies, somatic practice, and feminist and queer theories (to name a few). I am not an “expert”, and I am certainly not an expert in your experiences. I encourage every student to take what is helpful for them, leave the rest, and hope you are inspired to learn more about systems of studying the stars that may suit you better. I welcome questions, challenges, and generative discourse.
This work is anti-fascist in nature and intent. Racist, fascist, white supremacist, language, action, and sentiment will not be tolerated and is not part of this course. -

About the Instructor:
Kayle Karbowski (she/they- Scorpio Sun, Aquarius Moon, Taurus Rising) is a facilitator and creatrix living on the western banks of Lake Michigan (Michigami) along the Milwaukee River (Maynawalky). In 2019, she founded Other Dust, a psychospiritual consultancy and techno-apothecary focusing in “technologies for critical research with and of ourselves”. A driving force of Kayle’s work is rekindling the connection between our intellect and intuition, so their practice has many faces. From crafting talismans and potions, as well as working with people through tarot and astrology, Other Dust is also a personal practice of divination, ritual, tending, and artmaking.
“My goal as an educator, facilitator, and creative is to spark the desire to be a forever student. I hope that every interaction I have with my students leaves them feeling empowered to continue their dance with information from a place of honesty, integrity, and confidence. Our quests for knowledge are not about domination, but about collaboration and integration.”
My educational lineage comes from a wide array of institutions, courses, writers, and self study. Some I would like to note include: The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (BFA, 2015), The Golden Dome School (Eliza Swann), Elise Entzenberger, Liz Migliorelli (Sister Spinster), Adrienne Maree Brown (Emergent Strategy, Pleasure Activism), Lindsey Mack (Tarot for the Wild Soul), Rachel Howe (Small Spells), The Future Minneapolis (resident, 2018), The Lakota Tribe at Crow Creek, Lake Michigan.
